Fighting Antisemitism

Jewish Community at risk

Our efforts are giving way to early intervention and prevention of any antisemitism or any other form of discrimination for which the Jewish community may currently be at risk.

Our priority at CDLU is to educate and engage Latinos and others by encouraging them to find common ground and a way of advocating together on issues that affect and are important to all communities.

The CDLU’s “Action Against Hate Program” was developed after the unprecedented increase of antisemitic attitudes.

The need for our “Action Against Hate Program” is critical and imperative and will allow the communities we serve to understand the current scope, nature, and implications of antisemitism.

According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), between 2022 and 2024 the number of Americans who endorse Anti-Jewish tropes rose over 20 percent.

Antisemitism, for the first time in a long time, has put our country on a backslide. According to Time Magazine negative attitudes about Jews and negative experiences for Jews, by every metric are growing and not fading. Most troubling is that antisemitism is growing amongst younger generations of Americans.

Antisemitism is on the rise in the United States. For Jews, this rise engenders fear, pain, sadness frustration, and possible intergenerational trauma. Understanding this and unequivocally standing against antisemitism, the CDLU Board of Directors voted to advance our efforts in combating antisemitism within the communities we serve.

In 2024, the first Jewish and female President of Mexico took office, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. We have seen a rise of antisemitism among Latinos since she won the election.

The communities we have historically served, people of color, have struggled and have fallen victims of discrimination. However, recent statistics show that antisemitism beliefs, sadly, are on the rise in the communities we serve.
